Phonological Awareness Bingo provides a fun and engaging way for your students to practice phonological awareness skills. These games were developed to be as flexible as you are – they can be easily incorporated into your daily lessons, used in group work or centres, or given as independent practice activities. As a general rule, the skills addressed in Phonological Awareness Bingo should be introduced, practiced, and mastered by your students in the order in which they normally develop: sound awareness first; then rhyming; then segmentation; and finally blending.
This adaptable game allows you to challenge older students with segmentation activities that require identification of words within words, or ease your younger students into the world of phonological awareness with sound awareness tasks. This is a game you can use to challenge and stimulate your entire caseload. |
